Banff Sport Medicine (BSM) is a multidisciplinary clinical, education and research facility with a goal of providing world class care in musculoskeletal injury.

We take pride in offering an outstanding learning and team-based working environment.  Our integrated team provides expedient access to health care services including orthopaedic surgery, sport medicine, physiotherapy, sport dietetics, strength and conditioning, massage therapy, bracing, and orthotics.

We support all members of the public, recreational athletes and elite athletes in our custom-built facility with state-of-the-art equipment in The Shops of Canmore.

Our clinicians have the opportunity to pursue their professional interests, improve their skills, customize their career path, and learn from other clinicians. Our clinicians also have the opportunity to learn and contribute via monthly complex case rounds, monthly allied health meetings, and a quarterly journal club.

Physiotherapist

The BSM physiotherapy team believes that rehabilitation is most successful when it engages clients in an active process. Our team integrates movement education, exercise training, manual therapy, and complimentary treatments such as intramuscular muscle stimulation, shockwave therapy, and taping.

A Unique Opportunity:

  • Primarily private caseload, with some WCB and MVA clientele
  • One-on-one assessment/treatment sessions with your clients
  • Opportunity to work in our Acute Injury Clinics and Spine Assessment Clinics alongside the Sport Medicine Physicians
  • Opportunity to work in our Functional Testing Clinics (post-operative ACL and MPFL reconstruction assessment clinics) and Patellofemoral Instability Clinics alongside the Orthopaedic Surgeons
  • Opportunity for mentorship in clinical skills and caseload management
  • Competitive commission compensation

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate or Master of Physiotherapy (or equivalent) from a university program recognized by the Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators
  • Registered in good standing with College of Physical Therapists of Alberta

Massage Therapist

A Unique Opportunity:

  • Primarily private caseload with some MVA clientele
  • Competitive commission compensation
  • Private treatment room including up/down table, all supplies provided, and on-site laundry
  • Opportunity for mentorship in clinical skills and caseload management
  • Opportunity to work in our Functional Testing Clinics (post-operative ACL and MPFL reconstruction assessment clinics)

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Registered Massage Therapist in Alberta

Dietitian

A Unique Opportunity:

  • Caseload comprising sport performance, pre and post injury/surgery, general consultations for healthy eating
  • One-on-one assessment/treatment sessions that supports patients attending in-person and virtually
  • Opportunity to shadow the orthopaedic surgeons, sport medicine physicians, and allied health team
  • Opportunity for mentorship in caseload management
  • Competitive commission compensation

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (or equivalent)
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Alberta

Psychologist

A Unique Opportunity:

  • Caseload that is primarily comprised of clients recovering from injury and surgery, managing chronic pain, returning to sport performance, managing trauma and stress, and managing unhealthy behaviours related to self-harm or disordered eating
  • One-on-one assessment/treatment sessions that supports patients attending in-person and virtually
  • Opportunity to shadow the orthopaedic surgeons, sport medicine physicians, and allied health team
  • Competitive commission compensation

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology (or equivalent) and a Masters or Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in psychology
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists
