Functional Movement Assessment
A functional movement assessment (FMA) is a valuable tool used by physiotherapists to evaluate a person’s movement patterns.
It is a comprehensive screening process that aims to identify any movement dysfunctions, asymmetries, or limitations that can affect the individual’s ability to carry out activities of daily life or athletic performance.
During the assessment, our physiotherapists will use a series of tests and measures to assess the person’s functional movement patterns. They will use this information to identify any potential risk factors and to design a personalized treatment plan that addresses the patients specific needs.
The treatment plan may include a combination of manual therapy, exercise, and education to help improve movement patterns and reduce the risk of future injuries. Patients may also be provided with home exercises and self-management strategies to help them maintain their progress and prevent future injuries.
