Intramuscular stimulation
Intramuscular stimulation (IMS), or ‘dry needling’, is a technique used to treat musculoskeletal (muscle, bone, and joint) pain and dysfunction.
It involves the insertion of fine acupuncture needles into muscle tissue, with the aim of stimulating healing and restoring function.
IMS is often used to treat conditions such as chronic back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and sciatica.
By inserting needles into the affected muscles, our physiotherapists aim to release tension, reduce pain, and restore function.
