However big or small your injuries, our physiotherapy team is here to help.
Our physiotherapists have the skill and experience needed to improve your pain and get you back moving.
Types of Injuries
While we see a variety of injuries that occur from a motor vehicle accident, the most common ones include:
- Whiplash (neck and upper back pain)
- Concussion
- Headaches
- Ligament sprains
- Muscle and tendon strains
- Fractures (broken bones)
What to do after a vehicle accident
If you’ve been in an accident and have significant pain or movement impairments, you should visit the local Emergency Department.
Most injuries, however, can be treated effectively through physiotherapy (no referral needed).
If you would like to see one of our physiotherapists:
- Contact your insurance company to let them know you would like to receive physiotherapy treatment
- Submit a completed “AB1” form to your insurance company within 10 days of the accident
- Have your injuries assessed by one of our physiotherapists
From here you’re in good hands. Our physiotherapists will assess your injury, develop a treatment plan, create a home exercise program if needed, and complete the required insurance forms and submit these to your insurance company.
Do I have to pay for my treatment?
It’s important that you contact your insurance provider first to find out the details of what they will cover.
As a guide, if treatment has occurred within 90 days of your motor vehicle accident, we can typically direct bill your insurance company for the cost.
However, if it has been more than 90 days since your accident, most insurance companies request you use your extended health care benefits first (if you have benefits). Afterwards, your insurance provider may cover extended physiotherapy.
